Housed in the historic commercial buildings and former homes, Jacksonville's shops, bistros and restaurants are independently owned and offer their own unique merchandise and culinary perspectives.  As independent operators they take pride in running their own business and know that they have to offer you something special that you aren't going to find in other places.

Some of our favorite shops are Pot Rack, Terra Firma, Care Free Buffalo, Jacksonville Mercantile, Blue Door, Pico's, Crown Jewel, Scheffels Toys, and Jacksonville Barn Company. When you are hungry and want a more casual atmosphere check out Frau Kemmling's School Haus Brew Haus for great beer, pretzels and German food; Jacksonville Inn for a wide selection including American and Greek favorites; La Fiesta and Las Palmas for Mexican; Bella Union for Italian, pizza and pub food, a great selection of beer, and Oysters & Ale on Thursday nights during the winter; C Street Bistro for something exceptionally delicious; Thai House for some of the best Thai food you've ever had; and MacLevin's Whole Foods Restaurant – a Jewish deli that offers a gluten-free menu.

For a special dining experience our go-to places include Gogi's, where our guests have never been disappointed; Jacksonville Inn, a local favorite for over 30 years; the recently opened De Ja Vue in the McCully House; or C Street Bistro where chef Paul demonstrates incredibly sophisticated taste.

For a quick caffeine fix, pastries and light lunches you can't go wrong with Pony Espresso, Good Bean or the Mustard Seed Cafe. We also like to pick up sandwiches from Ray's Food Place – either pre-made or from the deli counter.
