Things to Do In and Around Jacksonville
The Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon offers more things to do and places to go than can be imagined and offers year round activities that embrace all seasons. The following links offer just a small glimpse of what is available to you during your stay.
The Town of Jacksonville Oregon is just two blocks from TouVelle House. This link will orient you to a number of activities centered around Jacksonville as well as dining options during your stay. Reservations are always advised in advance. We have a charming little crafts fair/farmer’s market every Sunday and there are many boutiques and antique stores located just steps from our door.
Britt Gardens
Jacksonville is famous for its small town charm, wineries, shops and restaurants and it also offers a fantastic venue for live entertainment with it’s outdoor concert stage featuring major acts at the Britt Music and Art Festival. Tickets are in demand so do book us and order your tickets at the same time. We have complimentary seating that you can take to the festival to keep you up off the grass. You can walk there in about 6 minutes from TouVelle House, no need to drive!
Rogue Valley Wineries
The wines in the Rogue Valley are developing into world class wines and the wineries provide the perfect venue for exploration, relaxation and fun. See the Four Wine Routes listed on the link below, all surrounding Jacksonville.
Here are 3 wineries that are within 5 minutes of TouVelle House, drive or pedal one of our vintage single speed bikes there. All three of these wineries offer wonderful wines, guest hospitality and food. Please remember to book in advance as they are both popular and busy!
Our region, the Rogue Valley is named after the famous river that flows through Southern Oregon. The mighty Rogue offers world class fishing both on the fly and other along with paddling sports, hiking and swimming. Rogue River activities are just minutes away from the Touvelle House
The Charming Nearby Town of Ashland
Aside from being a charming little town, our neighbor Ashland is world renowned for it’s Shakespeare festival. Ashland is about 25 mins from our front door. If you are a cyclist, you can pedal the backroads from Jacksonville to Ashland quite easily and see our countryside from atop your saddle. Ashland has many fine shops for browsing, brew pubs and restaurants.
If you are up for a drive . . . .
Crater Lake is one of North America’s gems. About an hour and half from Touvelle House, this beautiful drive will inspire you with the wild beauty of the Oregon wilderness. Plenty to see and do along the way!
Winter Activities
Mount Ashland offers “cheap, steep and deep” as the locals say and is just 45 mins from Touvelle House. Enjoy your day on the mountain and when you return, soak those muscles in our wet/dry sauna or spa while enjoying one of our wines from TouVelle House Wine List.
Steelhead and Salmon Fishing on the Rogue River
We have access to local guides in our area and can make recommendations. Should you return with a fish, we have freezer capacity to store safely for your trip home or James will prepare it for you for your dinner but you better share!
